Here we go again .....

Saturday 31st October, I woke in quite a good mood, had a little scroll through Facebook and started reading posts about another lockdown. Noooo this can't be right, uncle Boris wouldn't ground us again?!? I kept reading a bit more and there it was, headlines 'Lockdown 2.0'.
I text my mum and sister in a panic, its happening again, then the tears started. I can't go through this again, I can't go without seeing my family, I don't want the kids to miss out on so much like last time. After an hour of hiding in bed messaging them and crying, I headed downstairs. Another message arrived from a friend asking if we'd read the news, another discussion and panic stations on my part!
Christmas, what about Christmas?! I can't let the kids down, yes you can do most the shopping online but what about the little bits, you know the crap that they end up loving! What if this lockdown goes on longer?! I am no good when I am not in control so I headed into town so good old Poundland and B&M! I think I can do the rest online. It's sad really as me & Matt used to take a day off to go Christmas shopping, I love looking around but this year is going to be very different.
We were told we would have an announcement Monday, this soon changed to Saturday, you know they mean business when it's pulled forward.
Stan has cricket on a Saturday so we all went, just making the most of being out the house. Cricket finished at 4 so we headed home for the announcement, it was pushed back and back and back! We gave up waiting for it as by this point we pretty much knew what was coming. Instead we went out for a walk to spot some pumpkins, we still made it back before the announcement!
Again, a few more tears but I completely understand it has to be done.
Lockdown 2.0 is going to be different though, schools are open! Now this is amazing as means Stan gets to see his friends, carry on learning and Ernie gets out the house! But the negative to this is my mum and sister will still be in contact with many children daily due to their work. Mum will then be going home to dad who is classed as extremely vulnerable. These are the people we need to keep safe.
This morning I woke to a text from a friend asking how I was feeling today, it's things like that that really make a difference. Everyone will struggle in some way or another over lockdown, some financially, some mentally, some may loose jobs so we all have to look out for each other. If you are struggling mentally, I highly recommend blogging - you don't even need to share it, just get those feelings out your head and written down, it feels good.
Stan had rugby this morning, again we all went and it was good to be out. Hopefully it won't be long until we are back in the wind and rain watching him train.
It's just me and Stan home tomorrow as he has an inset, then I am hoping to head back to the office for a couple of days before it all starts again. Thankfully I have a good set up at home which makes it so much easier working from home.
So I thought this blog was pretty much over but I may be posting a bit more!
We've done it before and can certainly do it again, stay safe and keep talking x
