Day 75... lockdown birthday for Matt

The first birthday we have celebrated in lockdown, Matt's. He had to work until lunchtime which gave me and the boys some time to tidy up.

We sorted the lounge out, the boys helped with putting away the toys. We wrapped Matt's presents and they set them all

out for him.

Stan had a meltdown about writing Matt's card, he made one tiny mistake, which I fixed! But he just can't accept that it is ok to make mistakes, something I really need to work on with him.

Stan thought he would get today off school work so wasn't happy when I said we still had to do work. However, we sat down and got it done in less than an hour - with no tears!!!!

Matt arrived home and the boys were so excited to give him his presents.

This afternoon we had a call from Stan's teacher, he was reluctant to speak with her at first but agreed to with me on speakerphone. She told him how well

he had been doing with his work, he had such a big smile on his face!

Not long after, I had another phone call from my hairdresser to book my first appointment back! By the time I get my hair cut it will have been 5 months. Thankfully I have mastered cutting my fringe otherwise I would defiantly not be able to see by now!

Mum popped over with Matt's cake and gift, Stan chose the theme for the cake - Matt loved it!

We sat in the garden, so nice to be able to have people over, thankfully at this point it was still sunny!! Just nice to speak to people face to face instead of on a screen. The boys loved showing her things they've got as well.

Birthday treat tea tonight, Matt picked Chinese, it was lovey. However I've realised Chinese is wasted on the boys as they eat rice and chicken, I could cook that for them!

Boys were in bed at a decent time but there was nothing on tv tonight! Matt ended up in bed early, must be his age!

This week I have stopped watching the briefing, again I feel so much better for it. I read up on the main points afterwards to see if anything will effect us. I guess the next thing that we are waiting for is other years returning to school. There is only 6 weeks left this term and our school don't go back until 15th. It would be nice if they could just go back for a few days, just to finish the year and say bye to the teachers but if they don't then thats the way it has to be.

Friday's positives:

  • Matt's lockdown birthday

  • Seeing mum

  • School work done with minimal fuss!

Stay safe xx
