Day 69.... scorchio Saturday

Another early start but the boys headed downstairs and were quiet so I hid in bed! Matt worked till about 9 so lazy morning for me and the boys. We watched Highway Rat, Ernie loves it and pretends to be the rat with his plastic sword.

Me and Matt made a start on the cleaning, we only managed to get upstairs done, we couldn't face the Lego factory downstairs!

We stayed indoors until after lunch, then me and the boys headed into the paddling pool whilst Matt had a nap. I tried to listen to a podcast but got too hot so ended up in the water.

We stayed in the paddling pool for a couple

of hours, Ernie stayed in the whole time but Stan got in and out. The boys are nuts, they jump into the water with no fear! Ernie plays with the boats in the shallow pool, he has so much fun.

Ernie was exhausted tonight so we got him to bed and let Stan stay up and watch BGT. We've told him he has to have a lie in tomorrow so will see how that goes!

I realised today whilst led in the paddling pool, lockdown really has given us chance to slow down. We would have never spent so much time at home, enjoying the garden and sunshine! We have time to now, no running around to clubs or birthday parties. We now have times for conversations, don't get me wrong there are times when I have to tell Ernie to stop talking but we do just chat more. He quite often says 'mum can we chat about' or we have a conversation about preschool and his friends there. Today we spoke about Stan's school and about Ernie going there when he's older. Stan told him all about reception and what it has, it was just lush!

Ernie has also started to master drawing, today he drew me!!

Saturday's positives:

• Half a clean & tidy house

• Having time to do nothing
