Day 66... a day by the (paddling) pool

I was woken by Ernie crying sat at the top of the stairs because he hadn't said bye to Matt. He never says bye as he goes too early!! Thankfully managed to get him back to bed for a bit.

Found another advantage of working from home, my fellow Coach wasn't feeling well but I was able to go from bed to logged on in 10 mins! That wouldn't happen if I was working in the office!

Work was good, since changing my hours around the day just goes so quick.

The boys wanted to go in the paddling pool around 9.45, they were in and out in seconds. They then spent the rest of the morning in their fleece onesies watching tv!

When I finished work we headed into the garden and that is where we stayed for the rest of the day.

Stan doesn't stay in the water for long but Ernie is in there for hours. I got in the paddling with him, he is such a water baby!

I decided the boys needed more than just a plain paddling pool so sent Matt shopping on the way home from work - we now have 2!! One for me and one for them.

The boys played outside until 7 in the water, they were loving life!

Today was good, the weather is amazing and is going to get better. I don't normally like the heat but I think that's because I still have to do things like the school run and going to work. But when we actually have time to enjoy it, it feels very different! I sat in the garden most the afternoon but did sit in the shade, I was worried as the boys had done my sun cream on my back so not sure how much was covered!

I have seen bits being shared about possible relaxations of lockdown but trying not to read too much into it as don't want to get my hopes up like last time. I am actually feeling ok about lockdown and had forgotten until now that the review is tomorrow.

Wednesday's positives:

  • New paddling pool

  • Whole afternoon in the garden, no tv - just me, the boys and a bit of music

  • Managed to cut down on fizzy drinks and drink more squash (this is big for me!)

Stay safe xx
